Parnassius apollo wiskotti - Mountain apollo - is classified under the swallowtale butterfly family, although none of it's species possesses tales. As a typical mountain species it prefers hills and flowery alpine meadows.
Parnassius apollo shows a lot of individual variation in it's appearance, with a striking colour polymorphism.
