Common rudd

The common rudd - Scardinius erythrophthalmus - can grow to a size of up to 50 cm, but in average it grows about 25 cm. It's mouth is upturned which allows it to feed easily at the water surface. Scardinius erythrophthalamus prefers clear waters rich in plants and can reach a lifespan of 17 years.
